mCLASS DIBELS (K-4) and Star Assessment Reports (Gr 2 -8, Gr 1 Spring)
What is Universal Screening?
Universal screening helps us quickly identify the level of support each student needs in reading and math. These assessments are carefully chosen to provide accurate and reliable information on how students are doing in specific skills and to help predict their future progress. The results show how students are performing compared to their peers, using benchmarks set at the national, state, or local level.
We conduct universal screening three times a year to ensure we can quickly identify any students who may need extra help, without taking up too much learning time. This process is an important part of our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), allowing us to use data to make fair and informed decisions about the type of support each student needs.
The information we gather also helps us evaluate how well our core curriculum is meeting the needs of all students.

What is mCLASS DIBELS?
mCLASS DIBELS (K-4) is a set of short tests your students's teacher use to see how well they are developing important reading skills. Think of it like a toolbox with different tools for measuring different skills. These quick checks help teachers identify areas where your child excels and where they might need a little extra help. This information allows teachers to adjust their lessons and provide targeted support to ensure all students are on track for reading success. mCLASS DIBELS is a NHED approved assessment that complies with RSA 200:58 - Screening and Intervention for Dyslexia and Related Disorders.

What are the Star Reading and Math assessments? Star Reading and Math are computer-based assessments your student's school uses to measure their reading and math skills. If they get something right, the questions get a bit harder. If they get something wrong, the difficulty adjusts to match their current understanding. This helps teachers get a clear picture of your student's strengths and needs in reading and math, so they can provide support.
